Top Spain Universities
Speaking of overall ranking of Spain universities, the leaders, as always, continue to be public universities. However, private universities are not far behind in the race for supremacy either. For example, the private University of Navarra was ranked eighth in the overall university rankings which is directly on par with the Polytechnic of Catalunya.
El Mundo 2021 ranked Madrid University Complutense de Madrid in the top ten, followed by Autònoma de Barcelona and Universidad de Barcelona, with Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in third place. This means nothing since the leading Spain universities have by definition more “grado” (undergraduate) programs so it is not surprising that their programs are more likely to be ranked.
