This year the entrance exams for International students are the same as in past years: UNED announced that the first wave will take place in May and June, and the second one will be in September.

• Registration for the spring session is now open and will continue until May 9th. Examinations will take place in Spain from May 23rd to the 27th and in other countries from May 28th until June 11th. The results will be published by June 23rd.
• Registration for the fall will be open from June 29th to July 23rd.. Examinations are scheduled for September 5th-10th, with results announced by the 20th of September.

After grades are published, students will have three business days as usual to file any appeals.

At this time, there are 63 examination centers in Spain (including Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Seville and Tenerife) and 11 centers abroad are ready to welcome the first wave of applicants. 

UNED plans to offer if possible, alternatives for students who cannot come to any of the exam venues. In addition, the organizers say that the PCE may still change depending on the pandemic – including the expansion of the venue list.

But the exact deadlines for applying to universities are not known yet. Most likely, public universities will accept applications until early July.

Of course, not all of these professions require higher education, let alone a Master’s degree.
But a Master’s degree is a great reason to move to Spain. Since program prices are lower compared to English-speaking countries, the risks are also minimal.

Most of them are, of course, in Spanish. But if you want to find a job in Spain, you will have to learn Spanish anyway. So a Master’s year is also time to strengthen your language skills.

About training

I am a student at the Dentistry School of the University of Barcelona (UB). There is training available in Spanish and Catalan. In the first term we studied general subjects like biology, psychology, anatomy and biochemistry.  Starting in the second term we started with more specialized subjects such as histology, dental system, physiology, plus there was also the option of ‘elective subjects’. I wanted to go to medical school, but I didn’t get in with my grades because because medicine is a highly competitive program to get into. Therefore, I chose the School of Dentistry because the first year of study has a lot in common with the BSc in Medicine.

I like studying at the University of Barcelona because the professors are really helpful. Plenty of time is given for independent study and includes all the necessary materials on the virtual campus. At first it was difficult to start thinking in a foreign language in order to be able to write notes during the lectures. Nonetheless I gradually was able to train my ear to get used to it and got into a rhythm.

Many thanks to AcademSpain for recommending that I apply to the school of dentistry!!! The staff provided comprehensive information on universities and medical faculties across the country. Thanks to Nonna, Kira and Vitalia for their hard work!!! They also helped with the paperwork and suggested some “just in case” possibilities.

But although dentistry is an interesting field, my heart belongs to medicine and next year I will try to get into medical school again.

How it all began

I have long had thoughts of studying in another country but didn’t have the courage. I was a first year student at a university in my city. In the middle of the year I came across an article on the Internet about studying abroad with a link to the AcademSpain website. My family and I were very interested, so we contacted the agency. AcademSpain staff immediately offered to get in touch via Skype.

I had never known the language and nor studied it But I was about to move in the summer and had to learn Spanish as quickly as possible. At the time of my arrival in Spain I could understand the spoken language, express myself and find my way around easily. I went to a language school in Barcelona that agency recommended for the first three months. Then I went to an exam preparation school, (a very good one, thanks to AcademSpain for recommending it.) It was perfect for the medicine and all the associated fields of study!
